Happy fall semester! Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas—BYU-Idaho's fall semester is set during the perfect time in Rexburg! It's no wonder that this semester is usually the university's busiest.
There is something magical about Rexburg during the fall. Maybe it's the falling leaves and the late-semester snowfall. But it could also be all the fun holiday community events. Here are some events to look forward to in Rexburg this semester:
OkTUBERfest
Become part of the eastern Idaho community by participating in a spud harvest. Rexburg will host its annual potato harvest celebration on October 12. The event traditionally features live music, a potato bar, and a variety of spud-themed activities.
Speedy Spud 5k & Mashed Potato Mile
Residents and students can participate in the annual Speedy Spud 5k & Mashed Potato Mile as part of the larger Oktuberfest celebration.Both races will begin at Nature Park near the Southeast Gazebo and finish near the starting line. The 5k race will begin at 9 am, and the kids' mile will begin at 9:45 am. Information about the cost and route can be found on Rexburg's website.
BYU-Idaho Center Stage Performances
Every semester, BYU-Idaho hosts a handful of Center Stage events. This semester the Rexburg community can look forward to three shows:
Frank Caliendo
Frank Caliendo is coming to BYU-Idaho on October 12. Described famously as "a combination of Robin Williams and Jim Carrey," enjoying his routine is a great way to kick off the semester.
Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
On October 19, Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will come to BYU-Idaho. Casey Elliott from GENTRI will perform as Joseph, with Lexi Walker as the Narrator. If you're a fan of Broadway, this show might be perfect for you.
A BYU-Idaho Christmas featuring Laura Osnes
Get into the Christmas spirit and forget about finals for a few hours at BYU-Idaho's Christmas celebration. The campus will host its annual Christmas concert on December 7. This year, the university show will feature Laura Osnes, a famous Broadway star and actress.

Hemming Village Hocus Pocus
Next door to Cedars, Hemming Village will host its annual Halloween Celebration on October 25. Community members and students can look forward to a costume contest, trick-or-treating, hay rides, and other fun at this spooky event.
Lights On
On December 2, Rexburg will host its Christmas tree lighting ceremony. With the Robinson Family Light Show and a community concert as part of the celebration. This community event is a great way to end the semester.
Hemming Village Christmas
Hemming Village is planning to host its annual Christmas celebration in early December. More details will be released as the event comes closer. Past events have featured a live nativity and discounted Christmas shopping opportunities.
