Cedars at Hemming Village is the most conveniently located BYU-Idaho-approved housing option in Rexburg. Cedars is directly across from campus near the BYU-Idaho Stadium, with separate men's and women's buildings. You're also close enough to walk to Hemming Village restaurants and shops, classes, food, errands, and social plans.

BYU-Idaho Approved Housing is student housing that meets university requirements for eligible single students. Single students ages 17-25 generally must live in approved housing unless they qualify for an exception. Approved housing also follows BYU-Idaho's Apartment Living Standards and Student Living principles, creating an environment designed around the university's expectations for student life.

Earlier is usually better, especially if you care about location, roommates, parking, or a specific apartment. For the Fall Semester, January through March is a good target, with January and February being your best chance to get the spot, roommate, and apartment you want. We recommend planning ahead rather than waiting until just before the semester begins.

Being off-track doesn't automatically mean you can live anywhere in Rexburg. BYU-Idaho says off-track single students living in Madison County are still required to live in approved housing if they otherwise meet the eligibility requirements. Before making off-track plans, check your housing eligibility and contract dates so you know exactly what applies to your situation.

For BYU-Idaho students, Rexburg can be a really convenient college town. Campus, student housing, restaurants, shops, and church communities are concentrated pretty close together. Living at Cedars puts you right in the middle of it all. BYU-Idaho is across the street, and Hemming Village dining and shopping are right outside your apartment.

Housing prices depend on where you live, so there isn't one BYU-Idaho housing price. For 2026-27, BYU-Idaho's estimated housing-and-food cost for a single 18-25-year-old campus student is $2,898 per semester on campus and $2,814 off campus. Those figures are budgeting estimates that include food, not quoted apartment rent.

Our apartments are designed for six residents. Men's apartments have three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two refrigerators, private closets, and individual desks. Women's apartments also house six residents and include three bathrooms, two full-size refrigerators, and private closets.

For Fall 2026, Cedars Men's Housing is $1,745 per bed for non-laundry units or $1,820 for laundry units. Cedars Women's Housing for Fall 2026 is $1,895 per bed. Your BYU-Idaho track determines when you're normally attending classes, but housing requirements can continue during your off-track semester. If you're an eligible single student and remain in Madison County while off-track, BYU-Idaho requires you to stay in approved housing. Both the men's and women's layouts provide each resident with their own closet, while the shared kitchens, living areas, and community spaces give roommates plenty of room to spend time together.

Yes. Our apartments come fully furnished, making move-in much easier for students coming to Rexburg from out of town. Furnishings include the essentials you need for sleeping, studying, and spending time with roommates. For example, men's apartments include individual desks and a 65-inch TV. You can focus your packing list on personal items rather than furniture.

Cedars' Women's Housing comes with free onsite laundry. Men's residents can choose between units with an in-unit washer and dryer and non-laundry units with access to free onsite laundry. It's one less errand to build into an already-busy week of classes, studying, work, and campus life.

Your ward is generally connected to where you live, and Cedars makes finding yours easy. Rexburg winters are cold, with freezing temperatures and winter weather being a normal part of student life.
