Summer is all about experiencing new things and basking in warmer days. It’s about ice cream runs and courtyard barbeques. Summer days are long, but most agree that the break passes too quickly.

Rexburg has three major parks: Nature Park, Smith Park, and, of course, Porter Park. Each one comes with a handful of fun activities and attractions.
Nature Park
If you’re looking for a place to enjoy the outdoors, this park is the one for you. Located on the north side of town, next to the Madison County Fairgrounds, Nature Park is famous for its pond, trails, and more.
The park has four gated pickleball courts, two playgrounds, a disc golf course, a skate park, and a dog park. It also boasts several benches and picnic areas. Whether you want to play pickleball, birdwatch, or try out your skateboarding skills, this park is a great place to spend a summer day.
Smith Park
On the east side of town, just north of BYU-Idaho, Smith Park feels like a classic small-town neighborhood park. With a baseball field, several pavilions, basketball courts, tennis courts, and a playground, it offers a variety of fun activities and green space.
Rexburg’s Veterans Freedom Memorial is located on the park’s eastern side. The tribute honors locals who fought during the Civil War, World War I, World War II, and other American-involved wars.
Whether you’re looking for a quiet day of reflection or want to hit the basketball court with friends, this park might be the place to make some summer memories.
Porter Park
The most popular spot in Rexburg, Porter Park, is located in the city's heart and is a short five-minute walk from the Cedars. This park offers a splash pad, carousel, basketball court, tennis courts, pavilions, amphitheater, hammocking and picnic areas, a playground, and a wide open green space. Porter Park is a great option if you’re looking for a close outdoor destination.
Rexburg Arts is the community’s cultural initiative. During the summer, the Romance Theatre and Rexburg Tabernacle will host several community performances and plays promoted and produced through the Rexburg Arts program. Take advantage of art classes, theatre programs, and other community events with Rexburg Arts this summer.
